Introduction
Inviting friends to join your team can enhance your gaming experience by bringing familiar faces into your gameplay. Whether your team is "open" or "invite-only," the process of inviting friends is designed to be straightforward and integrated seamlessly with social media platforms like Facebook.
Sending an Invite
Open and Invite-Only Teams
- Open Teams: Any team member can invite friends. This inclusivity helps teams grow quickly and easily.
- Invite-Only Teams: Only the team lead can send invites, maintaining control over team membership.
How to Invite
- Navigate to the Members List Tab: Here, you'll find an "Invite" button.
- Click the Invite Button: This opens the Facebook UI, showing your list of Facebook friends.
- Send the Invite: Select friends to invite; they will receive a Facebook message with an invitation to join your team.
Accepting an Invite
When your friends receive an invite, several scenarios may play out based on their current game status:
Scenario 1: New Players
- Unlocked Teams Feature: If friends haven’t unlocked the Teams feature (typically by reaching a specific level), they will receive a popup instructing them to reach the required level to join a team.
- Tutorial Completion: If they haven't completed the necessary tutorials, they are prompted to do so. Once they reach the map after completing the required level, the popup invitation will appear again.
Scenario 2: Not in a Team
- Joining a Team: Friends not currently in a team will see a popup confirming if they want to join the team they were invited to.
Scenario 3: Already in Another Team
- Switching Teams: A popup will ask if they want to leave their current team to join the new one. If they confirm, the request is sent to the backend to facilitate the transfer.
Scenario 4: Team is Full
- Full Team Notification: If the team is already full, the invited friend will receive a notification stating that the team is full and they cannot join.
Additional Considerations
- Invitation Links: Invitation links work for both "open" and "invite-only" teams. A player with an invite link can join any team, provided there is at least one slot left.
- Repeated Invites: If a player is already in the team they are invited to, no popup is shown; the game will open normally.
- Inviting Friend Left: If the player who invited the friend has left the team, the invited friend can still join. They may decide to leave if they find out their friend is no longer there.
Conclusion
Inviting friends to join your team is a powerful way to build a stronger and more enjoyable gaming community. By understanding the process and scenarios outlined above, you can seamlessly integrate new members into your team, fostering a more engaging and collaborative gaming experience. Whether it's through open invites or controlled, invite-only teams, the game's social features are designed to enhance your interactions and deepen the connections within your virtual world.
